Minor Update

I just replied to my cousin  who inquired via FB message how i'm doing and I thought I should share my reply with all my friends as well:

"I'm probably about 80% back to normal, only because I still couldn't remain standing too long. My skinny legs get tired easily. I was cautioned not to do upper body exercises yet either. Having said that I haven't started any exercise yet - I plan on doing a lot of walking at the park and at the beach starting next week and eventually and definitely back to running.

I'm back to my photography already in conjunction with my leisurely walks. As far as my other passion goes, this Sunday I will rejoin my NRA buddies at our local shooting range for some fun target shooting. My arms and wrists are already strong enough to hold steady either a Nikon or a Beretta to do a good shoot (Joke)

I've gained 10 lbs. but I noticed all the additional weight went to my tummy, hahaha, so I will now slow down with this uncontrolled eating until I begin my regimented exercise program.

I'm resuming my Bible and Prison Ministries starting next week as well. Last Sunday I went to church for the first time since this leukemia ordeal began two months ago. I cried when we did the Lord's Prayer, it felt really good."

On Remission!

By the Lord, it's been done. God is awesome good!

My Doctor told me that they didn't find any more cancer on my Bone Marrow so my Leukemia cancer is now on remission! Praise the Lord.

I'm not cancer-free yet but based on their tests, they did not find any trace of the cancer in my bone-marrow at this time and will now begin the monitoring phase for the next 2 years.

They still want me to continue with the last 3 scheduled Chemo treatments in October just for preventive maintenance. In the meantime, I continue to gain strength and energy, specially my appetite. I have gained 8 lbs. already since we came home last August 28th!

Thank you again for your prayers!

Mild Chemo Treatment

If you are curious, this is how I take my low dose of Chemo. Two more to go (tomorrow and Thursday), wait 3 weeks, and receive 3 more and that would complete the Chemo treatments. The Monitoring phase follows for the next 2 years. Praise The Lord!

Lull From The Storm

Getting ready to BBQ a couple of thick ribeye steaks. I have definitely regained my appetite back. Also trying my first glass of wine since early July. Almost back to normal but tomorrow I start my first of four Chemo treatments (Second of three rounds). It's possible I may lose my appetite and sense of taste once again.

First Re-visit - Krispy Kreme

At one of my favorite places for the first time but not entirely back to normal just yet. It seems like I have regained my full appetite back though.

BUT, I start a new set of chemo for 4 days next week. According to my Oncologist, it's at this "Consolidation" phase that these set of low-dose chemo treatments will kill whatever cancer that's left in my system. This is repeated next month or the month after to complete the required Chemo treatments. Afterwards, it's the "maintenance" phase for 2 years which is simply monitoring my blood counts every now then.

Patience grasshopper....
